The nominations for the 2026 SAG Awards, now known as the Actor Awards, have been revealed.
One Battle After Another leads this year’s film nominations with seven nods, including one for best stunt ensemble. Sinners scored the second-most nominations of any film with five nods, again including a stunt ensemble nod, followed by three-time nominees Frankenstein, Hamnet and Marty Supreme. Frankenstein is the only one of the latter three films to land a stunt nod.
Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another and Sinners are all nominated for the SAG Awards‘ top prize of best cast.
On the TV side, The Studio scored the most nominations with five nods, followed by Adolescence and The White Lotus with four apiece. None of those titles were nominated for stunts.
The best comedy series ensemble nominees are Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Hacks, Only Murders in the Building and The Studio.
The best drama series ensemble nominees are The Diplomat, Landman, The Pitt, Severance and The White Lotus.
Heated Rivalry‘s Connor Storrie and Abbott Elementary‘s Janelle James announced the nominees for the film and TV acting awards, presented by actors union SAG-AFTRA, in a livestream that aired on Netflix’s YouTube channel.
In addition to this year’s competitive awards, Harrison Ford is set to receive this year’s life achievement award.
The SAG Awards rebranded as the Actor Awards in November with showrunner Jon Brockett and JoBeth Williams, the actress and chair of SAG-AFTRA’s Awards Committee calling the change, in a joint statement, “a perfect next step in the show’s evolution.”
In a Q&A explaining the move, Brockett and Williams elaborated on the reason for the change.
“Since the show started over 30 years ago, our iconic statuette has always been called The Actor, and simply evolving the show’s name to align with the award itself made obvious sense,” they said. “We wanted to provide clearer recognition in terms of what the show is about for our domestic and global audiences — we honor actors in film and television. Laser-focusing the name on those two things became the clearest and most straightforward path for this new chapter of the show.”
James also quipped of the new moniker ahead of Wednesday’s announcement, “Like thousands of actors, they’ve changed the name.”
Wednesday’s nominations were announced a year after the Palisades and Eaton fires began raging through Los Angeles.
Speaking of the anniversary ahead of the announcement, SAG-AFTRA president Sean Astin said in part, “So many of us were affected, but I’m so proud of our industry for coming together at this difficult time.”
Last year, Conclave won the SAG Awards’ top film prize of best cast, while Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown) and Demi Moore (The Substance) won best actor and actress, respectively, and Kieran Culkin and Zoe Saldaña took the supporting awards. On the TV side, Shogun nabbed the best TV ensemble drama award, while Only Murders in the Building won best comedy ensemble. While Culkin and Saldaña would repeat their wins at the 2025 Oscars, Anora, which dominated last year’s Oscars, was surprisingly shut out at last year’s SAG Awards.
The 2026 Actor Awards are set to stream live on Netflix from the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 1.
