Sheetz moving into Wawa territory: 1st store will be opening in Montgomery County, Pa.

LIMERICK, Pa. (WPVI) — When it comes to rivalry and competition, Philadelphia knows best.
A few things may come to mind when you think of Philadelphians, and Wawa is probably one of them.
“Born and raised in Philadelphia, I’m a Wawa person. I’ve been going for 37 years,” said Chris Aguirre of Skippack.
Wawa, a staple across the Delaware Valley, has been around for decades. Of course, over the years, it’s evolved, just like any business would. One thing that’s been the same is that the Delaware Valley has always been known as Wawa territory.
That is, until now. Montgomery County is getting ready for its first-ever Sheetz.
Limerick will be the first town to welcome a Sheetz, which is being built directly across the street from a Wawa.
“Sheetz has always been a western Pennsylvania brand, but I think competition is always good,” noted Aguirre.
On one side of Ridge Pike in Limerick, you have Wawa. On the other side, construction is currently underway, with Sheetz gearing up for its grand opening.
“I can’t wait for Sheetz,” Ryan Opperman said.
The community is excited for the friendly competition, but really just to have some more options.
“There’s a lot of Wawa’s around here, so we could use a Sheetz,” explained Gary Townsend of Royersford.
Sheetz is slated to celebrate their grand opening with prizes and giveaways on February 12.
