Birmingham Airport has warned passengers of potential delays and extended waiting times as the air-rail link shuttle is undergoing maintenance. Here’s what you need to know:
- Passengers arriving by train at Birmingham International face “extended wait times” as the air-rail Link monorail has been reduced to a single shuttle service.
- This disruption is expected to continue until February 2026.
- The reduction of one shuttle is because the airport is carrying out essential maintenance work on the air-rail link which connects flyers with BHX and Birmingham International train station.
- BHX has urged customers to allow extra time for their journeys, warning they may face “some delays” and “extended waits” during peak times.
- There will be one shuttle available approximately every six to eight minutes, 3.30am – 12.30am daily until the work is finished.
- Passengers can instead walk from Birmingham International train station to the airport via safe routes.
