Person shot on 10 Freeway near downtown LA, prompting temporary closure of all eastbound lanes

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) — One person was shot on the 10 Freeway near downtown Los Angeles Wednesday afternoon, prompting a temporary closure of all eastbound lanes.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a shooting on the freeway at around 12:26 p.m.
A 44-year-old shooting victim was transported in serious condition, according to the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
The eastbound 10 Freeway was temporarily closed from Arlington Avenue to Hoover Street as LAPD looked for evidence on the hillside. CHP diverted traffic off at Crenshaw Boulevard.
A SigAlert was issued at 3:36 p.m. and canceled about one hour later.
It is unclear what led to the shooting. An investigation is ongoing.
