Dear Carolyn: My husband loves to entertain. Me, not so much. We host an annual, themed holiday party that is a pretty big deal. My husband devotes many hours to baking all the desserts, shopping for food and drinks, and lavishly decorating the house. Guests are requested not to bring anything unless they want a particular drink. The event costs a lot of money but gives my husband great joy. It is for around 60 people, including friends, husband’s work and volunteer colleagues, neighbors, and others.
