ITV viewers issued the same complaint as Lorraine Kelly insisted that it’s ‘all good’ amid major changes for her popular talk show.

Monday (January 5) marked a day of changes for ITV, with the previously announced tweaks to their daytime schedule coming into effect. The morning began with Good Morning Britain being extended by 30 minutes, now running until 9.30pm.

The extra 30 minutes of the programme featured an interview with Coronation Street actor Jack P Shephard and Emmedale’s Chris Bisson ahead of the historic Corriedale crossover. Kate Garraway was also seen delivering the latest entertainment news, including the results from The Critics Choice Awards 2025.

ITV announced their plans last year to revamp both Lorraine and panel show Loose Women as part of new cost-saving measures for the broadcaster. Lorraine’s long-running morning programme has been reduced to a 30-minute slot, airing from 9.30am to 10am instead of its previous hour-long format.

Both Lorraine and Loose Women are now only running for 30 weeks a year, dramatically reduced from airing every week. Prior to presenting for the first time in 2026, Lorraine addressed the changes during her usual appearance Good Morning Britain.

Susanna Reid asked Lorraine: “A Happy New year Lorraine, you’re in a new studio too?” Lorraine replied: “We are, it’s all changing all the same. Yeah, it’s all good.”

Once her programme got underway, Lorraine avoided delivering her normal monologue to start the morning. Instead she got straight into an interview with The Masked Singer’s Joel Dommett, with contributor Ross King making an in-person appearance.

“Welcome to the show, Ross and Joel Dommett are right here with me all morning,” Lorraine said before immediately asking Joel about his Christmas fared with his family.

Those watching the episode at home rushed to X, previously known as Twitter, to have their say on how they found Lorraine’s first episode in its new 30 minute format. Many of them noted that the Scottish presenter was moving the show along faster than usual.

@tvreality93 said: “So Lorraine show was only around 20 minutes with adverts. #lorraine.” @Sweggers added: “Come on, come on, speed up! Not long to go … #lorraine.”

@MartGray wrote: “@itvnews @ITV What’s the point of taking half an hour away from #Lorraine and giving it to @GMB if it’s just going to be filled with showbiz stories – eg dull awards and #Corriedale – that would have been on Lorraine.”

@mostlystupid commented: “I wouldn’t call 9:30am – 10am ‘all morning’ #lorraine.” @stez1190761 posted: “Jeeeeez she is trying to make up the loss of her programme by talking twice as fast…..#Lorraine.”

Meanwhile, Lorraine recently issued a plea with her viewers to ‘stay with us’. She told The Standard: “My show’s been on at half past eight, quarter to nine, and nine o’clock, 10 past nine…

“So hopefully the audience will still stay with us, because that’s the most important thing to me, is, you know, that the audience are still enjoying what I do. The fact that people are so kind and they still watch after all these years and when I go out and about, people greet me like their friend, which is really, really lovely, and I don’t think that happens to all that many people.”

Lorraine continued: “You know that you’ve got that connection, primarily because I’ve been doing it for so long, but it’s something that I never, ever take for granted and I never take any, any of this for granted, I really don’t because it’s an honour.”
