Rain possible for Dallas-Fort Worth again Friday, with a cold front on its heels

Showers mostly skipped Dallas-Fort Worth on Thursday, but the region will get another chance at rain Friday.

Only 0.01 inches of water were recorded at DFW International Airport on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service, with similarly small showers in Denton and Collin counties. Low rain chances are present again for the southern and eastern parts of the metro area on Friday, with chances strongest for cities further away, like Palestine and Waco.

At the airport, only a 20% chance of showers is present in the afternoon. The temperature should be somewhat cooler on Friday than recent toasty days, but the high of 67 is still above normal for early January.

Colder air should follow the storm system, dropping highs for the weekend down to the mid-50s. Overnight lows should be similarly seasonable, in the mid-30s, before a slight warm-up early next week.
