Warriors vs. Kings injury report: Domantas Sabonis out, Gary Payton II returns

It hasn’t been the best season for the 20-18 Golden State Warriors and, as such, there haven’t been a lot of games where it’s clear that the Dubs should win. But their Friday night game is exactly that. The Dubs are finally healthy. They’re playing at home, as part of an extended stay in the Bay. They didn’t play yesterday and they won’t play tomorrow. And they’re facing a Sacramento Kings squad that is 8-29 and missing two of their best players.
Here’s the full injury report for both squads.
Out — Seth Curry (left sciatic nerve irritation)
No new news for the younger Curry. He remains sidelined, and likely will for a while.
Available — Gary Payton II (left ankle sprain)
After missing one game with a mild ankle sprain, GPII is ready to get back on the court. We’ll see what that means for his minutes and for the minutes of Gui Santos, who has been playing well.
Out — Domantas Sabonis (left knee partial meniscus tear)
It’s been a cursed season for the Kings (as most seasons are), and one of the many things that has gone wrong has been the health of Sabonis, their three-time All-Star face of the franchise. Sabonis, who led the NBA in rebounds per game in each of the last three seasons, hasn’t played since mid-November, and is still a ways away from returning.
Out — Keegan Murray (left ankle sprain)
Murray is likely out for about a month with an ankle injury. He’s averaged 14.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game this year when healthy, though his jump shot has really betrayed him.
Minimal names on the injury report for both teams, but far more consequential names for the Kings. This game is there for the Dubs to take. You can watch the action at 7:00 p.m. PT on NBC Sports Bay Area.
