Sky customers across the UK are experiencing reported outages today, Saturday January 10, with thousands of households reporting problems with the company’s TV service.

Outage monitoring website DownDetector shows the number of reported outages spiking to almost 8,000 at around 7am on Saturday morning. 80% of customers said they were experiencing problems with Sky TV, with complaints spanning the UK including in London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Cardiff and Glasgow.

One customer reporting the problem on DownDetector commented at around 6.30am: “No TV on Sky Q or Sky Q Mini. Done usual resets, unplugged etc., even reset connection to WiFi router and still nothing.”

Someone else echoed: “Had the same issue for a few hours this morning. Have done everything – reset, rebooted etc. and still nothing working.”

And another person complained: “Same here in Manchester, Sky box still initialising for the past two hours.”

While some confirmed that their services had been restored later in the morning, others were still reporting problems after 10am. “Main box on but no signal on mini box despite reconnecting,” one person said on DownDetector.

Someone else suggested: “If you still have a problem, restart the main set top box and you should be good.”
