Welcome, Ollie Kensdale!

Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of centre back Ollie Kensdale, who joins the Wood on a permanent basis from EFL League Two side Barnet. The commanding defender arrives at Meadow Park with a wealth of experience across the Football League and National League pyramid, becoming the latest addition to Luke Garrard’s squad.
Kensdale joined his hometown club Colchester United at the age of seven and progressed through their Academy before signing scholarship terms in 2016 and then gaining his first taste of men’s football with several loan spells at Maldon & Tiptree, where he made an immediate impression and scored his first senior goals during the 2018/19 campaign. Kensdale went on to make his first-team debut for Colchester in the EFL Trophy before featuring in League Two, later becoming the first Colchester player born after 2000 to sign a professional contract with the club.
Following spells with Bath City, Braintree Town and Concord Rangers, Kensdale joined Southend United at the end of 2021, where he established himself as a key figure, making 110 appearances and scoring twice for the Shrimpers. After a season with Eastbourne Borough, helping the club reach the National League South play-offs, he signed for Barnet in May of last year before now making the move to WD6. Operating as a centre back, Kensdale has built a reputation for being a front footed, technical and ball-playing.
We are thrilled to welcome Ollie to the Wood and look forward to seeing him pull on the black and white at the Mangata Developments Stadium, Meadow Park.
