$55 million Lotto Max jackpot won in eastern Ontario, second straight Ontario win

Ontario’s Lotto Max streak continues, this time with a $55 million winning ticket sold in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell located in eastern Ontario.
The win comes just over a week after an Ontario ticket holder claimed the $80 million Lotto Max jackpot in London, marking back-to-back wins in the province, according to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
“This is two life-changing wins in a row for Ontario Lotto Max players. Incredible,” OLG’s Tony Bitonti wrote in an email to CP24. “I am excited to meet all these new multi-millionaires when they come forward to claim these light changing prizes.”
In addition to the big win, officials note that thousands of other prizes were also won across the province in Friday night’s draw.
Among them was an Encore ticket worth $100,000 that was sold in Ajax.
Since Lotto Max launched in 2009, Ontario players have won more than $9.5 billion, including 119 jackpot wins and 993 Maxmillions prizes across the province.
Lotto Max tickets cost $5 per play, with draws held every Tuesday and Friday.
