This year’s cast had been due to start filming today

In a statement, ITV said: “Further to a production evacuation owing to ongoing wildfires in the area, our assessment of the location site has concluded that filming will need to be postponed.

Health and safety is our greatest priority and will always come first, and therefore the transmission of Love Island: All Stars will be delayed until a date to be confirmed.”

The contestants including Maya Jama were expected to start production today ahead of Monday night’s slated premiere but ITV bosses pulled the plug.

Now, following further assessment, the show will no longer be able to go ahead as planned.

No further details have been revealed on when ITV hopes to continue with filming the show.

Sources first confirmed to The Sun that crisis meetings were being held to determine whether the show would be able to continue after the huge fires broke out close to the programme’s filming location.

Insiders told us earlier that the All Stars contestants were being kept in hiding and would not be travelling to the villa today as planned.

A source said: “This is a massive nightmare for ITV but they’re doing everything they can to keep Love Island All Stars on track.

“A fire broke out close to the villa and it was deemed to dangerous to have Maya.

“The cast and all of the production crew working there in case it suddenly moved closer to the villa.

“They have now cancelled filming today and are hoping to resume tomorrow.

“ITV will always put the welfare of the cast and crew above the show.

“But this is a huge headache and will make everything a far closer call when it comes to getting enough footage in the can for Monday night’s launch show.

“Naturally, if the fire is still posing a risk the show will be pushed back again.”

Stars include former winners Millie Court and Jess Harding along with Belle Hassan and Whitney Adebayo.

Helena Ford and Leanne Amaning are also in the villa and make up the original six girls.

For the lads, Tommy Bradley is returning after just six months away from the famous villa, and will join Sean Stone, Charlie Frederick, Ciaran Davies, Shaq Muhammad and Jack Keating.
