Former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman posted a strong message ahead of the Patriots’ playoff matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
“You make your money in the regular season, you make your name in the post season,” Edelman posted on Instagram.
Those are strong words from a player who has won three Lombardi Trophies over the course of his legendary career.
The Patriots are set to appear in the playoffs for the first time since the 2021 season. So many current players on the roster have never played in a postseason game. Edelman’s words serve as a reminder of the incredibly high stakes the Patriots will face when they host the Chargers.
Edelman was one of the best postseason performers in NFL history.
He is second behind only Jerry Rice and Travis Kelce in playoff receiving yards and receptions. His ability to elevate his level of play in critical moments is a big reason why the Patriots won each of their last three Super Bowls. That begs the question: Who will be the Patriots’ Edelman on Sunday?
