Eric Singleton Jr. transfers to SEC foe after withdrawing from NFL Draft, reports say

Eric Singleton Jr. was Auburn’s most touted transfer signee last offseason, but is now set to play for one of the Tigers’ upcoming SEC opponents.

Singleton signed with Florida on Saturday, according to multiple reports. The decision comes just one day after Singleton withdrew from the NFL Draft to enter the portal. Auburn will play Florida in its 2026 SEC opener.

At Florida, Singleton will reunite with former Auburn wide receivers coach Marcus Davis. He’ll also be back in an offense called by Buster Faulkner, who was Singleton’s offensive coordinator at Georgia Tech.

After spending his freshman and sophomore seasons at Georgia Tech, Singleton was the top-ranked wide receiver in the portal last year, according to On3 and 247Sports.

He was Auburn’s receptions leader in 2025 with 58, but had fewer receiving yards than each of his first two seasons. Singleton had just one 100-yard game in 2025, and it came in Auburn’s 45-38 loss to Vanderbilt.

Six Auburn receivers have entered the transfer portal since the 2025 season ended, and Singleton becomes the third to find a new school.

Auburn has already rebuilt much of its wide receiver room, bringing in three incoming freshmen and signing five transfers since the portal opened. The portal will remain open for players to enter until Jan. 16. Keep up with all of Auburn’s incoming and outgoing players here.
