The Buffalo Bills take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in the wild-card round of the playoffs on Sunday. As the No. 6 seed, the Bills will travel to EverBank Stadium to face the Jaguars (No. 3 seed).
The stat haunting Bills quarterback Josh Allen as he prepares for the win-or-go-home matchup, he’s 0-4 in away playoff games. A victory in Jacksonville would be a momentous occasion. Not only would their journey to the Super Bowl continue, but as a franchise, the Bills haven’t won a playoff game on the road in 32 years.
While Allen prepares for the biggest game of the season, his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, is also preparing for a major event. While the 29-year-old quarterback would love to see Steinfeld, who’s pregnant with their first child, in the stands cheering him on against the Jaguars, she has another major commitment that same day in Los Angeles.

The Golden Globes announced this year’s presenters on January 8, and the star-studded list included Steinfeld. Fans had mixed reactions to the exciting news. One man posted, “This Sunday? So she won’t be….?” One fan commented on X, “lying in from Jacksonville? With Josh after we clobber the jags ?”
Another person replied, “do you people have zero concept of distance & time? plus she’s a presenter so she would already be in los angeles days prior for rehearsal.” A Bills fan worried, “She’s deciding to present at Golden Globes over watching her husband compete in the playoffs. This feels like a bad omen.”
The Oscar-nominated actress returned to the big screen last year in the horror movie “Sinners.” The film not only became a major box office hit, but also an awards season favorite.
While Steinfeld didn’t score a Golden Globe nod for her role as Mary, “Sinners” racked up seven nominations, including Best Motion Picture Drama, Best Director, Best Screenplay (Ryan Coogler), Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture (Michael B. Jordan), and Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.
Steinfeld most recently presented at the Golden Globes in 2024, which fell on the same day as the Bills-Dolphins Week 18 matchup at the time. (The Bills won 21-14). While walking the red carpet, the 29-year-old publicly spoke about the man who would become her husband for the first time.
When asked, “What is it about a sportsy man?” She replied, “Listen, what isn’t it about? Come on, now.” Steinfeld also checked a reporter yelling, “Go Bills!” while holding up Stefon Diggs’ former No. 14 jersey.
“Wrong number, though,” Steinfeld said, clearly wanting to see the No. 17 on his shirt.

During an interview featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks before the season started, Allen gushed over his wife’s performance in “Sinners” and gave the movie an A+.
“Because it combines a lot of different aspects of life,” Allen said. “My wife absolutely kills it, and hopefully, award season coming around, people make the right decision.”
The reigning MVP also cried the first time he watched the movie. “I was just so proud of her,” Allen explained. “I get emotional thinking about it, but it was a pretty cool experience.”
Allen also attended multiple of the film’s premieres during the offseason. “I’m just there trying to support her, in whatever way that I can,” Allen said. “And that was her moment, and I’m so glad she got to shine.”
