Coffee rave brings music, wellness to Northeast Fresno

NORTHEAST FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A Northeast Fresno event is mixing rhythms, with health and wellness to promote a sober substitute to day-drinking.

Action News was in the neighborhood at the Grand Rising Coffee Rave on Fort Washington Road for a morning of family-friendly fun.

A live DJ provided the soundtrack for the 4-hour rave event as families packed the dance-floor inside Azara Club.

Guests shopped from local vendors while sipping on alcohol-free drinks from a mocktail menu including matcha and tea.

Organizers say it’s part of a growing trend as more and more people enjoy sobriety.

Today’s party offering an alternative to those par-taking in Dry January with options tailored to day-time outings instead of those centered at night around alcohol.

“People are choosing different alternatives to having fun and one of those alternatives is the exclusion of alcohol,” says Lewis Everk, owner of Everk Hospitality Group. “You don’t really need to have a drink to have a good time and I think these events and parties like this they’re very health-forward and it just lends to a different way to have fun.”

The event featured dancing, massages, free face-painting, freshly squeezed juices, matcha, and of course, mocktails.

Organizers hope more events like this will invite others to connect in unique ways in Fresno and the surrounding areas.
