Ayo Edebiri’s Black Off-the-Shoulder Gown Gets a Bejeweled Twist at the 2026 Golden Globes

Ayo Edebiri returned to the Golden Globes, attending this year’s ceremony as a nominee for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series—Musical or Comedy for her role as Sydney Adamu in The Bear. She won in the same category last year.

Edebiri arrived on the red carpet wearing a black off-the-shoulder gown from the Chanel Métiers d’Art collection, which featured a silver and emerald brooch on each shoulder.

The nomination continues a strong awards run for Edebiri, whose performance on The Bear has also earned her an Emmy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Critics Choice Award.

Reflecting on the Golden Globes in a January 2024 interview with Vogue, Edebiri said, “It’s really and truly an honor.”

She added, “People always say that, and you think it’s cheesy, and then you get there, and it really is the greatest honor to be nominated.”

In an October 2025 Vogue profile, Edebiri reflected on navigating the pace of her career, saying, “How do I have presence and awareness, but also just allow this experience to be what it is and enjoy it?”

She also spoke about the way fame has shifted how people engage with her work. “So many artists can become a character to people, or an idea to people,” she said. “And then when something deviates from that idea, then it’s like, ‘Wait, what’s going on? Do we like this?’”

Her relationship with fashion has also evolved. “One of the fun parts of getting to do this sort of thing is that you get to transform and be these different permutations of yourself,” she said. “Maybe in a way that I might not necessarily choose to present myself when I’m working.”

Over the past year, Edebiri’s red carpet appearances have become a focal point of awards season. She has stepped out in looks by Prada, Ferragamo, Matthieu Blazy’s new Chanel, and more.
