NFL Playoff Bracket 2026 Updated Picture, Schedule After Sunday’s Wild Card

Sunday’s slate of Wild Card games is underway, with all but one weekend matchup complete. The NFC Divisional Round is set, while the AFC picture is continuing to take shape.
The No. 6 Buffalo Bills opened Sunday’s Wild Card slate with an upset of the No. 3 Jacksonville Jaguars.
With the 27-24 road victory, the Bills will await the outcomes of the remaining AFC Wild Card games on Sunday night between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Chargers and Monday night’s matchup between Pittsburgh and Houston to determine their divisional-round opponent.
A New England victory would send Buffalo on the road to face the Denver Broncos in the divisional round, as the Bills would become the lowest remaining seed in the AFC bracket.
If Los Angeles advances instead, Buffalo’s path would depend on Monday night’s Pittsburgh-Houston outcome. In that scenario, the Chargers, as the lower seed, would travel to face top-seeded Denver, while the Bills would draw the winner between the No. 4 Steelers and No. 5 Texans as the next-highest remaining seed.
Sunday’s second game featured Brock Purdy and the No. 6 San Francisco 49ers defeating the Jalen Hurts and the No. 3 Philadelphia Eagles 23-19.
The result set the NFC Divisional Round matchups, with the top-seeded Seattle Seahawks hosting San Francisco as the lowest remaining seed. The No. 2 Chicago Bears will face the No. 5 Los Angeles Rams in Chicago.
