A new affordable housing project for seniors is coming to East El Paso.
The National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care (NIC) found that demand for senior housing is at an all-time high, with nearly 621,000 units occupied as of April 2025.
Despite the high demand, NIC found that new development for affordable senior housing was not keeping pace. While El Paso offers a number of options for senior housing through HOME, YWCA Rapid Rehousing and After55, the new development in East El Paso will be a welcome addition.
Where is it?
The new senior housing facility will be located at 3081 N. Zaragoza Road, according to the city’s permit and licensing page.
The new housing project is located across the street from UCare Urgent Care, Golden Valley Animal Care and a Lube X-press location. The lot sits in front of a residential area and alongside a Peter Piper Pizza and Whataburger.
What was there before?
The new senior housing project in East El Paso will be a new construction project atop an empty lot.
The facility is slated to be a four-story multifamily affordable senior housing project with 70 units.
Who is the contractor?
The contractor for the project is not listed on the city’s website, but the applicant is Boris Grandison of Green Mills Group in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The owner is listed as GM Pebble Hills Place Ltd.
The project is valued at $12 million.
