The UConn men’s basketball team travels to Newark, New Jersey, tonight for a Big East contest against Seton Hall. The game begins at 8 p.m. and is being broadcast on truTV.
The No. 4 Huskies (16-1, 6-0 Big East), who have won 12 straight, are coming off a wire-to-wire 72-60 win over DePaul (10-7, 2-4 Big East) on Saturday afternoon at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford. With the win, the Huskies are 6-0 in Big East play for the first time in 24 seasons, have won 24 straight games in Hartford and have won 22 in a row against DePaul.
Braylon Mullins led all scorers with 16 points along with a game-high seven rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks. Alex Karaban added 15 points and five boards on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor and a 2-of-4 effort from three. Silas Demary Jr. was the third Husky in double-figures with 14 points and dished out a game-high four assists with three rebounds and three assists.
Connecticut finished the day shooting 50.0 percent from the floor and 40.0 percent from 3-point range while out-rebounding the Blue Demons by five.
Tarris Reed Jr. scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds with three assists, one of seven Huskies to shoot 50 percent or better in the win.
For DePaul, Layden Blocker scored 16 points with five rebounds and Brandon Maclin (12) and C.J. Gunn (11) also finished in double-digits.
UConn and Seton Hall played twice last season with each school winning at home. The Huskies lead the all-time series 50-24.
