Quarterback Dante Moore returning to Oregon in 2026

Dante Moore is staying in Eugene for another year.
The Oregon quarterback announced on ESPN he is staying in college rather than entering the 2026 NFL draft.
“I will be coming back to Oregon for one more year,” Moore said Wednesday morning, “being able to play for the Oregon Ducks and, of course, reach our goal of being national champions.”
Moore completed 71.8% of his passes for 3,565 yards with 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions and rushed for 156 yards and two scores this season at UO.
Widely expected to be a top pick in April’s draft, Moore has just 20 collegiate starts over three seasons — five at UCLA in 2023 and 15 this season at Oregon. He appeared in five games while redshirting and serving as backup to Dillon Gabriel in 2024.
“I learned from him; he was a veteran quarterback,” Moore said. “Even this year, I had many great throws, many great plays but at the end of the day I feel like I can still learn so much more. Of course as a kid, ever since four years old I’ve dreamed about being in the NFL. But this team, we’ve been through a lot and a lot of people are returning so I feel like we have exciting things coming this year and I’m excited to keep pushing my team.”
Moore is the sixth UO player to announce he will return next season, joining defensive tackles Bear Alexander and A’Mauri Washington, center Iapani Laloulu and outside linebackers Teitum Tuioti and Matayo Uiagalelei.
With Moore returning, Oregon is projected to have 74 scholarship players.
