Actor Todd Bridges is splitting with his wife, Bettijo B. Hirschi, after three years of marriage.
The “Diff’rent Strokes” star, 60, confirmed the separation in a statement shared by his representative Jan. 15 . TMZ was the first to report the news. Bridges and Hirschi met and married in 2022.
“After much prayer and reflection, my spouse and I have made the difficult decision to separate,” Bridges said. “This was not an easy choice, and it comes with a heavy heart, but also with love and gratitude for the life we shared.”
“I thank God for the time we’ve had together, the lessons we’ve learned, and the family we’ve built,” he continued. “Even in this season of change, I trust He is guiding us both toward healing, peace, and new beginnings.”
The statement concluded: “I ask for privacy as we navigate this transition and continue to lift my former partner up in prayer, wishing them joy and fulfillment in the chapters ahead.”
Bridges shared during a 2024 appearance on “The Tamron Hall Show” that he and Hirschi, a designer, had met after a friend showed him her online dating profile. The pair got engaged six months after meeting and wed in September 2022.
This is Bridges’ second marriage. The actor was previously married to Dori Smith Bridges from 1998 to 2012, and the pair shared one son. He also has a daughter from a previous relationship.
