BALTIMORE, MD. – The Bryant University women’s basketball team suffered its first conference loss of the season, with a 55-47 defeat at UMBC.
 
Mimi Rubino led the Bulldogs with 11 points, scoring nine in the fourth quarter.

  • Bryant outscored UMBC 4-3 to end the third quarter, creating a 39-26 score in favor of the Retrievers after three.
  • The Bulldogs came out on fire in the fourth quarter, surging on an 8-0 run, where Izzy Adams recorded an and-one basket, Lindsey had a bucket inside, and Mimi Rubino nailed a three-pointer from straight on, forcing a UMBC timeout with 8:39 remaining (39-34).
  • The Black and Gold scored seven points, Rubino had three, bringing her fourth-quarter total to six. The Retrievers would tally five, making the score 44-41 with UMBC leading at the 5:00 minute mark of the fourth.
  • Nyborg hit a bucket with four and a half minutes remaining, cutting the lead to one (44-43). The Bulldogs would then go scoreless while UMBC tallied three, resulting in a three-point deficit with one minute left (47-43).
