Leeds United have enquired to Wolverhampton Wanderers about their forward Jorgen Strand Larsen.

The West Yorkshire side are yet to make an offer and there is no guarantee the situation develops — given the competition for his signature and their need to comply with the Premier League’s financial rules — but the admiration has been expressed.

The Athletic reported earlier this month that Nottingham Forest were considering a move for Strand Larsen after Chris Wood underwent knee surgery, which is set to sideline him for months. Strand Larsen was part of a four-man striker shortlist but Iran international Mehdi Taremi of Olympiacos emerged as the leading contender.

The Athletic reported on December 21 that West Ham had registered an interest in signing Strand Larsen on a permanent transfer. They have been looking to strengthen head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s attack, especially following fellow striker Niclas Fullkrug’s loan move to AC Milan. West Ham have since signed strikers Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe.

Wolves rejected proposals from Newcastle United last summer before securing Strand Larsen to a new contract, which committed him until June 2030 with an option to extend by 12 months.

But like his team, the Norway international has struggled this season — Strand Larsen has only scored once in 19 top-flight games as Wolves sit bottom of the table.

Their form and his has improved in 2026, with the 25-year-old scoring a hat trick against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup third round. Wolves posted a first league win against West Ham on January 3.

On Thursday, Leeds completed the loan signing of attacking midfielder Facundo Buonanotte from Brighton & Hove Albion — while Joel Piroe is not expected to leave the club in this window.
