Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq Rise; Micron, Intel, Nvidia, More Movers

Stocks were fighting for slight gains on Friday.

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were both up 0.1% after trading sideways for much of the session. The Dow was also up 41 points, or 0.1%.

Just about half the stocks in the S&P 500 were on the rise. Super Micro Computer was leading, while Constellation Energy and Vistra were lagging. All three have been seen as plays on the artificial intelligence trade.

Hardware was beating software again: The iShares Semiconductor ETF was up 1.5%, while the iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF was down 0.8%.

The Russell 2000 extended its recent rally with a 0.6% gain. The Russell has already beaten the S&P 500 for 10 days in a row. An 11th day today would mark the longest such streak since June 6, 2008, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
