The key for Fery will be the Brit’s efficiency on serve as Cobolli is one of the most accurate returners on the tour.
Playing styles and prediction
Cobolli had a great 2025 season and competed well against some of the best players in the world. The Italian is on the cusp of the world’s top 20 and will be hoping for more consistency this season as he looks to continue his rise up the rankings by performing well in the big events.
Fery will look to serve aggressively and take the match to Cobolli by finishing points off at the net. Meanwhile, Cobolli will be aggressive on return and will use the backhand to pin Fery behind the baseline. This will be a good experience for Fery and will give Cobolli a good test before the Italian prevails in a comfortable fifth set.
Prediction: Cobolli in five sets.
