Falcons name Kevin Stefanski head coach

A two-time coach of the year is on his way to Atlanta.
The Falcons named former Cleveland Browns shotcaller Kevin Stefanski their new head coach, the team announced Saturday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal is for five years. The financial terms were not initially reported.
Stefanski has spent the last six years of his career in Cleveland, helping the team to the playoffs in 2020 and 2023 after leading them to 11-win seasons for the first time since 1994. He was named coach of the year following both those campaigns.
However, two consecutive losing seasons in 2024 and 2025 were the end of the rope for the 43-year-old, as the Browns opted to move in a new direction following a 5-12 campaign.
The Falcons did the same with former head coach Raheem Morris, who was fired after Week 18 as his team finished 8-9 and missed the playoffs for the eighth straight season.
Stefanski will inherit a solid young group, led by running back Bijan Robinson and wideout Drake London on offence, and safety Jessie Bates on defence.
