What we know about Seahawks LT Charles Cross’ injury status

Sam Darnold isn’t the only key Seattle Seahawks player who’s dealing with a new injury going into Saturday’s huge playoff game against the division rival San Francisco 49ers.

It was expected that Darnold’s left tackle, Charles Cross, would make his return to the field after missing the last three games of the regular season with a knee injury. But then Cross popped up on the injury report Wednesday, limited with not just the knee injury but also a new hamstring concern.
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald addressed Cross’ status when he had his final press conference before Saturday’s game at team headquarters on Friday afternoon, explaining what happened with Cross.
“Kind of got tangled up a little bit in practice, and so we’re working through it,” Macdonald said.

Cross did not have a game designation – out, doubtful or questionable – when Seattle’s final injury report for Saturday’s contest was released Thursday, and Macdonald’s comments Friday were in line with that.
“He’s good to go. It’s more of a precautionary thing than anything,” the Seahawks coach said.
No doubt that’s great news for the Seahawks and their fans as the NFC’s top seed readies for the sixth-seeded 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round.
Cross, who was only limited in practice this week on Wednesday, is a crucial part of Seattle’s offense, as evidenced by the four-year, $104.4 million contract extension he was signed to earlier this month.
Saturday’s NFC Divisional Round playoff game between the Seahawks and 49ers is set for a 5 p.m. kickoff, with radio coverage on Seattle Sports beginning at 2 p.m. with the pregame show.
