Police officers accord a gun salute to the mortal remains of Dr. S.V. Adinarayana Rao in Visakhapatnam on Sunday.

The last rites of Padma Shri awardee and renowned orthopaedic surgeon Dr. S. V. Adinarayana Rao were conducted with full State honours in a solemn and dignified manner. The funeral was held at the Prema Group of Educational Institutions, founded under his guidance, at Gambheeram.
As a mark of respect, the police accorded him a ceremonial guard of honour by firing three rounds in the air prior to the funeral. Visakhapatnam MP Mathukumilli Sribharat paid tributes and expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. He recalled Dr. Rao’s exemplary services towards polio patients. Several public representatives, political leaders, eminent personalities from various fields, doctors, family members, relatives, friends, well-wishers and admirers attended the funeral in large numbers and paid their final respects.
