Texans rookie Jaylen Reed carjacked at gunpoint, Houston Police Department says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Houston Texans rookie Jaylen Reed was carjacked at gunpoint at his home earlier this month, and two suspects are still on the run, according to court records.

Police say Reed was confronted by three masked men with rifles when he got to his home on Jan. 4.

Police say the suspects demanded everything in his house, jumped into his vehicle, and fled before Reed called 911.

Police say they tracked the vehicle down and chased it until the suspects crashed on Ella and Rushcreek near Greenspoint.

Two of them escaped, but according to investigators, Montreal Frye was taken into custody.

Court records indicate Frye was already on probation for evading, and his bond has now been set at $500,000.

Reed played in seven regular-season games for the Texans at safety and played in Monday night’s Wild Card win at Pittsburgh.
