The Los Angeles Rams and the Chicago Bears will both be relieved to be taking part in the divisional round after close shaves in their wild-card games last week. The Rams finally ended the resistance of a feisty Carolina Panthers team to win 34-31 on the road, while the Bears had to come back from a 21-3 half-time deficit to beat the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field.
The home team are the second seeds in the NFC while the Rams are seeded only fifth, but Sean McVay’s side are the only visiting team to be favoured in the divisional round.

The Los Angeles Rams failed to cover the handicap despite winning on the road against the Carolina Panthers in the wild-card round last week but they can finish up on the right side of a smaller spread when they visit the Chicago Bears in the divisional round on Sunday night.
The Rams were 10.5-point favourites in Charlotte, but got a little complacent after going 14-0 ahead and only scrambled over the line with a late touchdown from tight end Colby Parkinson to win 34-31 after four lead changes in the final quarter.
The Bears also finished well in their game against the Green Bay Packers as they came back from an 18-point deficit to win 31-27 in their first playoff success since 2010.
Quarterback Caleb Williams came good late on as the Bears scored 25 points in the fourth quarter and registered his first 300-yard passing effort of the season.
The Bears went 6-2 at Soldier Field in the regular-season but lost 19-16 there to the Detroit Lions in Week 18 and the Rams, led by their Super Bowl-winning quarterback Matthew Stafford, should have the overall quality to see them off and reach the conference championship game.
