Bam Margera Says He Has No Interest in Returning to ‘Jackass’

Bam Margera is making his position clear as buzz builds around the next Jackass movie, making clear he has no interest in rejoining the franchise and that any appearance in the upcoming film will be limited to previously recorded material.
Speaking candidly in a recent interview with Deadline, Margera said his relationship with Jackass co-creators Johnny Knoxville and Jeff Tremaine remains fractured after his removal from 2022’s Jackass Forever.
Asked directly about returning, Margera didn’t hedge. “I’m just too hurt by it, and I already accepted the fact that I don’t want anything to do with it anymore,” he said. “Right now at this time, I don’t wanna do anything.”
Margera described the aftermath of being cut from the fourth film as emotionally devastating, saying the experience left him feeling humiliated and abandoned. “I was very angry, and now I’m not angry, I’m just hurt,” he added, explaining that he’s not even open to thinking about a reunion at this point.
Despite that stance, Margera confirmed that he will appear in the new Jackass movie through archival footage shot years ago. According to Margera, he was informed that the production team planned to comb through unused material from Jackass Forever to build new sequences.
“They said, ‘We’re gonna sift through a lot of old footage to try to create something new,’” he recalled. Margera said he agreed, noting that much of what was filmed never made the cut because it was either too extreme or pushed the runtime too far. “As far as I know, I don’t have to film anything new, and I don’t want to.”
Margera also reflected on the financial and personal toll of his exit, claiming he spent heavily on treatment and professional help only to be told he was no longer part of the project. He has previously cited lingering trauma from that period, saying he’s had to come to terms with carrying the label of “ex-Jackass star.”
The comments arrive just days after Knoxville confirmed that a new Jackass film is officially on the way. Jackass 5 is scheduled to hit theaters on June 26, 2026, with Paramount Pictures handling the release. The announcement was shared via Instagram by Knoxville, the official Jackass account, and Gorilla Flicks.
