Brooklyn Beckham breaks silence on Nicola Peltz and his parents

In a scathing social media post, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham broke his silence on family feud rumors and alleged that his famous parents have tried to ruin his marriage with Nicola Peltz Beckham.

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, is breaking his silence about his relationship with his parents.

The 26-year-old wrote in a string of lengthy Instagram Stories on Monday, Jan. 19, that he does “not want to reconcile with my family.” He went on to say he has “been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” adding that “my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”

“I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” Beckham added, alluding to speculation that he’s estranged from his family because of his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.

In his Monday remarks, Brooklyn wrote that “my parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.”

USA TODAY has reached out to Victoria and David Beckham’s representatives for comment.

Brooklyn and Nicola married in 2022 and renewed their vows in August 2025. Brooklyn’s parents attended the wedding but weren’t present for the vow renewal.

Brooklyn Beckham breaks his silence on wedding drama with wife Nicola and mom Victoria

Around the time of his wedding, reports surfaced that the relationship between Brooklyn’s soon-to-be wife and the mother of the groom was strained.

Now, Brooklyn is addressing the rumors. “My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress,” he wrote.

Brooklyn, who also took Peltz’s name when he married her, added, “Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children. They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.”

“During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me ‘evil’ because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola’s Naunni at our table, because they both didn’t have their husbands,” he wrote. “Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.”

Brooklyn Beckham says his two brothers were ‘sent to attack me on social media’

Brooklyn also wrote that the night before his big day, members of his family told him that his soon-to-be wife was “not blood” and “not family.”

Since that moment, he said, “I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.” He added that “even my brothers,” Romeo and Cruz Beckham, were “sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer.”

In December, Cruz, 20, took to Instagram to clear the air about a Daily Mail report, alleging that his older brother, Brooklyn, had been blocked by his parents.

The tabloid wrote the headline: “David and Victoria Beckham UNFOLLOW estranged son Brooklyn, 26, as it’s revealed he’ll spend Christmas with wife Nicole Peltz’s billionaire parents amid family feud.”

Cruz, however, posted that it was “not true” and that Brooklyn had been the one to block his parents, including his siblings.

Brooklyn Beckham says his mom ‘hijacked’ first wedding dance with wife Nicola

Brooklyn also said on Instagram that Victoria “hijacked” his first dance with Nicola on their wedding day.

Their first dance, he said, “had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song” and “in front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.”

“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone,” he said. “I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”

Hence, “We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”

Brooklyn says wife Nicola has ‘been consistently disrespected by my family’

“My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one,” the eldest Beckham son said. “My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.”

In recent months, Brooklyn has stepped out for public events with his wife Nicola in Los Angeles and New York, but has not been spotted with his family.

According to Getty Images, Brooklyn was last spotted with his dad and brother on Feb. 25, 2024, during a soccer match between Inter Miami and the Los Angeles Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

Before that, the two brothers and their mother, Victoria, were spotted at the premiere of the movie “Lola” in Los Angeles, California, with Nicola on Feb. 3, 2024.

Nicola starred in the drama.

Despite his family’s alleged actions, Brooklyn added that he and his wife “still travelled to London for my dad’s birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him.”

“He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner,” Brooklyn continued. “When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face. Later, when my family travelled to LA, they refused to see me at all.”

Brooklyn Beckham accuses David, Victoria Beckham of ‘controlled narratives in the press’

Brooklyn wrote that for his “entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family,” calling their social media posts and family events “performative,” and noting that “inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”

He concluded, writing that “the narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards” and that he has “been controlled by my parents for most of my life.”

Ever since he’s distanced himself from them, Brooklyn said, “for the first time in my life … that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief.”

“My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation,” he said. “All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”
