A Stranger Things star has been announced for Liverpool Comic Con. The fan convention is set to return next spring, bringing a number of stars to the Exhibition Centre Liverpool from Saturday, May 2 to Sunday, May 3. Thousands of fans are expected to turn out at the event over the weekend for a chance to meet some of their favourite celebrities.
Organisers have announced today, January 19, that Joe Chrest will be among the special guests. The American actor is best known for playing the perpetually clueless patriarch Ted Wheeler in Netflix’s Stranger Things.
He is also for memorable roles in films like 21 Jump Street, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Deepwater Horizon, and Erin Brockovich. He’s also a respected academic, an adjunct professor at Louisiana State University (LSU), and involved in regional theatre.
The actor joins fellow Stranger Things stars Cara Buono and Caleb McLaughlin, as well as X-Files star Gillian Anderson, who was announced as the first guest last November, and Star Trek actor William Shatner.
Last year’s star-studded line-up included Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, WWE superstar John Cena, Dirty Dancing icon Jennifer Grey and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off actress Jeanie Bueller.

Star Wars actors Daniel Logan, who played young Boba Fett in the 2002 film Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Alistair Petrie, an older Boba Fett played by Temuera Morrison, Boca Tan actress Katee Sackhoff and Genevieve O’Reilly, who plays Mon Mothma, also made an appearance at the event.
Throughout the weekend, attendees can look forward to autograph signings, professional photo sessions, and live Q&A panels where stars will discuss both their past work and upcoming projects.
Comic Con fans can purchase a variety of tickets including full weekend or one day only passes.
More guests are expected to be announced as the event draws closer.
