Run the Tape:
Tall and lengthy frame who dominates as a possession receiver against all coverages. Proved to be a QB’s best friend in making the tough catches look easy. Utilizes a second gear to further separate from defenders at the top of his routes. Great spatial awareness to slow down on routes in zone coverage to make himself available to the QB on passing plays.
Mike’s Take:
What I really like from Dmari’s tape is how the Lakewood coaching staff utilized Roberts in a multitude of ways. Some clips show Roberts lined up wide, other clips have him inside playing as the slot, etc. There didn’t seem to be a route concept that Roberts wasn’t asked to execute. His ability to “do it all” (per se) makes him an invaluable option at the position when taking his game to the next level and I’ll be interested to see how he is utilized in Tampa. Long story short, Roberts flashes the ability to be a starting wideout for a USF offense who is looking for the next iteration of Bulls to dominate at the position for years to come. Welcome to the Bulls Dmari!
