Pentagon Prepares Hundreds More Active-Duty Soldiers For Possible Minneapolis Deployment: Report

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The Pentagon has ordered additional active-duty U.S. Army soldiers to prepare for a possible deployment to Minneapolis, according to a report from MS NOW.

The outlet reported Tuesday that a prepare-to-deploy order was issued for an Army military police brigade stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. At least a few hundred military police soldiers are being readied for potential mobilization to Minneapolis, according to sources familiar with the matter.

When asked for comment, a Pentagon official told MS NOW: “We have nothing to announce at this time, and any tip about this is pre-decisional.”

The report says the possible deployment of military police would come in addition to Pentagon orders issued last Friday directing two infantry battalions from the Army’s 11th Airborne Division to prepare for deployment. The 11th Airborne Division is based in Alaska and specializes in cold-weather and winter operations.

Each of the two airborne infantry battalions includes at least 500 soldiers, according to the report.
