Today, we’ll be taking a peek under the hood of pitching prospects in Baseball America’s new Top 100 for 2026 from a Statcast perspective by using their performance in the minor leagues last season to derive Stuff+ scores.
We’ve previously discussed our methodology for Stuff+, which you can read here. You can find the Hit+ version of this story for offensive players in the Top 100 here.
Those players who did not play in the minor league season due to injury (like Rhett Lowder) and those who did not make their professional debut after being drafted (like Seth Hernandez) will not have a score and are denoted DNP (did not play). However, if a player yet to debut has Statcast data from college (like Kade Anderson), we’ve included scores from their NCAA data (which will be italicized).
Also note that major league performance is not considered in the table below. For example, none of Logan Henderson’s MLB data is reflected in his Stuff+ score, only his minor league production.

Top 100 Stuff+ Observations
Similar to what we saw with Top 100 hitters, all but one of the pitchers had a minor league Stuff+ grade above 100. The lone exception was Guardians lefthander Parker Messick, who ranks 88th and scored a 98 overall. Note, however, that Messick’s “normalized” Stuff+ grade—for which each pitch is re-scaled compared to the average grade for that pitch—is a 103.
The highest-graded fastball belongs to the Rays;’ Brody Hopkins, while Thomas White of the Marlins has the highest-graded curveball. The best sliders belong to Cam Caminiti, Ryan Sloan and Andrew Painter. However, if you include sweepers in that pitch classification, go ahead and add Carlos Lagrange and Brandon Sproat.
