  • The move is part of a strategy to further differentiate the Lincoln brand from Ford vehicles.
  • Approximately 55 Lincoln Marketing, Sales, and Service employees will move to the newly renovated campus in mid-February.

Ford Motor Co. will move the headquarters for its luxury brand, Lincoln, to the company’s Michigan Central Station campus in Detroit as Ford continues to find ways to differentiate Lincoln from Ford brand vehicles.

Ford has been shifting white-collar workers around metro Detroit ever since announcing last fall that it would shutter its longtime world headquarters on Michigan Avenue in Dearborn, dubbed the Glass House, and move into its new world headquarters, called the Hub, located on Oakwood Boulevard and Village Road in the same city.

On Jan. 20, Lincoln spokeswoman Kelly Wysocki told the Detroit Free Press: “The Lincoln Marketing, Sales and Service teams will be moving to the Ford offices in The Station at Michigan Central — a thriving symbol of innovation and culture. The Lincoln Design and Product Development teams will continue to be based in our Dearborn Campus including the new world headquarters building.”

Wysocki said about 55 Lincoln employees, including leaders, will complete the move and start working from the ninth floor of Michigan Central in mid-February. The luxury brand has been based at the Glass House since 2023. It moved there from the Regent Court office building nearby after that building was demolished.

Lincoln President Joaquin Nuño-Whelan told Automotive News, which was first to report Lincoln’s plan to move, that this relocation will “change the way we show up” and help the team to “carve out Lincoln to be a special luxury brand.”

In December, Consumer Reports magazine’s influential 2026 Automotive Brand Report Card put Lincoln in its top 10 brands at No. 7. Lincoln landed at No. 4 in the magazines top 10 luxury brands list, too. In fact, Lincoln, was the only Detroit-based brand to crack the top 10. General Motors’ Cadillac luxury brand came in at No. 17, one spot ahead of Ford itself. Buick, Chevrolet and Chrysler placed 20, 24 and 25, respectively.

Lincoln has also surpassed the 100,000 sales mark for two years in a row. Ford reported the brand sold 106,868 units for all of 2025, a 2% boost over the 104,823 sold for all of 2024. Ford executives have said Lincoln’s sales got a big lift from sales of the all new Navigator SUV. Navigator ended 2025 with sales up 42.8%, its best since 2007 on total sales of 22,185 SUVs.

Nuño-Whelan told Automotive News Lincoln will see further benefits to its products from working near Ford’s integrated services team. Lincoln collaborates with the team on technology that delivers the Rejuvenate mode in the Nautilus and Navigator. Lincoln Rejuvenate technology turns a car into a spa-like experience with seat massage, heating/cooling elements, custom lighting, ambient sounds and digital scents to promote relaxation.

Ford spent nearly $1 billion and six years renovating the 18-story train station in the Corktown neighborhood. The building had suffered years of neglect and decay after remaining empty since 1988. But in June 2024, Ford opened Michigan Central to much fanfare.

Wysocki said the current occupants in the building include Ford’s electric vehicle business unit, philanthropy arm and integrated services team using the eighth, ninth and 10th floors.

Ford has said its goal is to house 5,000 workers in the building by the end of 2028, half of them being Ford employees.
