WWE 2K26 Cover, Pre-Order Date and Details for Attitude Era Edition Revealed in Photo, Video

The official cover for the Attitude Era edition of WWE 2K26 has been released.
Fans can pre-order the game on Jan. 30.
The exact release date hasn’t been revealed just yet, although fans can expect it before March 31, per Athlon Sports.
“2K has confirmed the game will launch within Take-Two’s fiscal year ending March 31, 2026. But fans should expect it much sooner. Reporting and internal guidance point to an early March release with three-day early access for Deluxe and Collector editions, following the same pattern as 2K24 and 2K25.
“It seems WWE and 2K would prefer a release date in the first week of March. Fans should be even more certain the game drops before March 7 with the Attitude Era edition reveal.”
Mike Straw of Insider Gaming reported on some details for this year’s game via exclusives on Jan. 15 and Jan. 16.
“Insider Gaming has learned that WWE 2K26’s Showcase Mode will feature none other than CM Punk. According to sources, the showcase will be narrated by CM Punk himself and feature three sections of matches.
“The first section has players relive some of Punk’s favorite matches throughout his WWE career. There are also “What If?” matches that look at what could have been had Punk not left the company in 2014. And, lastly, fantasy matches will see Punk take on opponents that he never was able to face for one reason or another.”
In addition, Straw reported on Jan. 16 that three match types are returning (Inferno match, I Quit matches and 3 Stages of Hell) after being in past editions of the game, and the Dumpster Match is debuting.
The Island game mode will also return, per Straw on Jan. 19.
“The story in WWE 2K26 will see a power struggle among three factions on the Island of Relevancy,” Straw wrote. “This is due to the fact that Roman Reigns is no longer the Trible Chief. One of the three factions, Insider Gaming understands, will be called the Order of Anarchy.”
The history of the 2K game dates back to 2013, when WWE 2K14 was released. The games were originally published by THQ, with the debut of WWE SmackDown! in 2000.
