Louis Page will be joined by Hamza Choudhury in midfield as Marti Cifuentes makes just two changes to the Leicester City line-up to face Oxford.

Injured pair Jordan James and Oliver Skipp are the two to drop out, with 17-year-old Page confirmed by Cifuentes on Friday to make his first league start since August in the box-to-box midfield role.

Choudhury is preferred to Boubakary Soumare in the deeper midfield position, and moves forward from right-back, where he started in City’s midweek draw at Wrexham.

Ricardo Pereira, who came on as a substitute at the Racecourse Ground, is the second fresh face in the side.

That means that Ben Nelson keeps his spot at left-back against his former loan club, with Luke Thomas left on the bench.

Caleb Okoli and Jannik Vestergaard play between Ricardo and Nelson while in attack it’s the same quartet that City have become used to, with Bobby De Cordova-Reid in behind striker Jordan Ayew, and with Abdul Fatawu and Stephy Mavididi wide.

On the bench, Wanya Marcal is back involved, while young centre-back Kevon Gray is included for the first time. It means nine of the 20 players in the squad have come through the club’s academy.

City (4-3-3): Stolarczyk; Ricardo, Okoli, Vestergaard, Nelson; Choudhury, Page, De Cordova-Reid; Fatawu, Ayew, Mavididi.

Subs: Begovic, Gray, Aluko, L Thomas, Soumare, Marcal, Monga, S Thomas, Daka.
