AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura had a moment after their final match

Although it hasn’t been branded as such, AJ Styles is on something of a farewell tour of his own. He made clear not long ago he will be retiring by the end of 2026 and WWE is doing things like putting him in a career threatening match against GUNTHER at Royal Rumble in just one week in Saudi Arabia. It’s at least possible he will be done then, though it would certainly be somewhat unexpected giving they only promoted as much for a couple weeks ahead of time.

Either way, they made sure to squeeze in one more match with Shinsuke Nakamura at this evening’s (Jan. 24, 2026) Saturday Night’s Main Event special in Montreal, and the two sure wrestled like it would be their last time sharing the ring. It looked more like the match they should have had at WrestleMania years ago, as much of an epic as the constraints of Peacock would allow.

When all was said and done, Styles defeated Nakamura and the two shared an emotional moment in the ring right after:

That right there is what pro wrestling is all about, folks.

Meanwhile, here are all the highlights and videos from the entire show, featuring Sami Zayn becoming top contender to the WWE championship at Royal Rumble, a wild brawl between Cody Rhodes and Jacob Fatu, Stephanie Vaquer showing up in a surprise, and more:
