During January 23, 2026’s edition of WWE SmackDown, 2K Games announced their latest, upcoming title, WWE 2K26. While the pre-order begins on January 30, 2026, the devs have taken an unusual route this year with the announcement. Instead of directly revealing the cover star, they have announced a different edition called the WWE 2K26 Attitude Era Edition.
As longtime wrestling fans already know, the Attitude Era was the golden period for WWE. Huge superstars, like Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and plenty more, were born in this era. That said, this edition of the game might draw huge numbers. First of all, let’s make it pretty clear that the Attitude Era edition won’t be the standard copy of WWE 2K26. It’s just a different edition, just like the previous year’s WWE 2K25 Deadman and The Bloodline Editions. They are just meant to attract the audience with some extra characters and cosmetics.
For the Attitude Era Edition this year, you can expect a bunch of larger-than-life superstars who carried the company through the early 90s. Several of them are even featured on the cover page. For your reference, we have given a list of all those superstars below:

While neither of these match types has been confirmed from an official source, a reveal might be on the way sooner or later next week.

Currently, the exact price of the Attitude Era Edition hasn’t been revealed. However, some rumors suggest that the price can go up to $149.99. Speaking of the release date, it’s not confirmed either, as we only know that January 30, 2026, is the pre-order date.
But since we know that WWE 2K games usually release around WrestleMania, their ultimate premium live event, you can expect WWE 2K26 to come out in March this year.
