Frigid, mixed precipitation has begun to fall in Louisiana as ice and winter storm warnings remains in effect within the state.

An ice and winter storm warning will remain in effect for the ArkLaTex region until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25.

During this time significant snow and sleet, as well as ice accumulations are expected in the northern and central regions of Louisiana.

Updated snowfall predictions in North Louisiana

Here are expected snowfall amounts in North Louisiana from Saturday, Jan. 24 to Tuesday, Jan. 27, according to the NWS:

  • Shreveport: 1.6 to 1.7 inches
  • Minden: 1.3 inches
  • Homer: 1.6 inches
  • Ruston: 1.4 inches
  • Monroe: 1 inch
  • Rayville: 0.5 inches
  • Bastrop: 1.6 to 1.7 inches
  • Winnsboro: 0.1 inches
  • Jonesboro: 0.7 inches
  • Lake Providence: 0.2 inches

Updated snow predictions in Central Louisiana

Here are expected snowfall amounts in Central Louisiana from Saturday, Jan. 24 to Tuesday, Jan. 27, according to the NWS:

  • Natchitoches: 0.5 inches
  • Jena: 0 inches
  • Jonesville: 0.1 inches
  • Alexandria: 0.1 inches
  • Leesville: 0 inches

Here are expected ice amounts in North Louisiana from Saturday, Jan. 24 to Tuesday, Jan. 27, according to the NWS:

  • Shreveport: 0.46 inches
  • Homer: 0.51 inches
  • Ruston: 0.64 to 0.65 inches
  • Minden: 0.53 inches
  • Monroe: 0.82 inches

  • Bastrop: 0.84 inches
