Palm Beach County Schools Announce Closure for Martin Luther King Day

Palm Beach County Schools will observe a closure on Monday, January 19, in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This holiday allows students, teachers, and staff to enjoy a three-day weekend.
Events Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr.
Various events are scheduled throughout Palm Beach County to pay tribute to the civil rights leader. The annual scholarship breakfast organized by the MLK Coordinating Committee will take place at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. Proceeds from this event, supported by the Black Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches, will provide scholarships for local students and grants for community organizations.
Upcoming School Calendar Highlights
- Students will also have a day off on Wednesday, February 18.
- Spring break is scheduled from Monday, March 16, through the week, concluding with an extra day off on Monday, March 23.
- A spring holiday is planned for Friday, April 3.
Graduation and End of Year Schedule
The school year will culminate with a series of graduation ceremonies, starting with Indian Ridge and Palm Beach Virtual School on Tuesday, May 5. The last day of school is set for Friday, May 29, with a Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 25.
