All-Pro Jeffery Simmons is ‘a big fan’ of Rams DL Braden Fiske

‘I’m a big fan of Fiske. I don’t think he gets the attention he deserves.’

The Los Angeles Rams don’t have a star-studded unit on defense like they do on offense, but Chris Shula’s group is full of young, aggressive defenders who love football. Among them is Braden Fiske, an underrated defensive lineman who one All-Pro says doesn’t get “the attention he deserves.”

Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons was on “This Is Football” this week, and he raved about Fiske as an underrated part of the Rams’ defense when speaking to Kevin Clark. Simmons recognized how good the Rams’ edge rushers are with Jared Verse and Byron Young, but he also highlighted their interior defenders, including Fiske.

“Even the interior guys. I’m a big fan of Fiske,” Simmons said. “I don’t think he gets the attention he deserves. We played a lot of teams that played the Rams, when you turn on the tape, ‘This guy’s balling,’ consistently being able to win his one-on-ones.”

Simmons knows all about winning from the interior and generating pressure on the quarterback, so when he speaks highly about someone, he’s speaking with a lot of intelligence and experience.

Fiske hasn’t had the breakout second season that a lot of people were predicting for him after he had eight sacks and 10 tackles for a loss as a rookie in 2024, but in 42 fewer pass-rush snaps, he only has 12 fewer pressures this year (47) than he had last year (59).

He’s also battled injuries for part of the year, seeing limited action in some games as a result. But the Rams still had a stud on their hands, and a guy who never takes a single play off no matter how healthy or injured he is.
