Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek are in Australian Open fourth-round action on Monday, with Nick Kyrgios also set to feature in front of his home crowd.
Italian star Sinner takes on compatriot Luciano Darderi in the night session on Margaret Court Arena, as the two-time defending champion returns to action after his frantic third-round victory against Eliot Spizzirri.
The four-time Grand Slam champion survived an almighty scare as he fell a break behind with a set apiece and was barely able to serve or run around the court due to cramp.
Sinner was saved as the sweltering heat in Melbourne – reaching temperatures of around 40 degrees Celsius – forced a short break in order to close the roof on Rod Laver Arena.
That stoppage, and another lasting 10 minutes following the third set, allowed Sinner to recover enough to battle past his spirited opponent and book his spot in the fourth round.
Swiatek, meanwhile, will also be in action on Monday as she continues her search for a maiden Australian Open title.
The Pole came through a testing third-round encounter against Anna Kalinskaya, a match which saw huge momentum shifts and time-outs for both players, as she eventually came through 6-1 1-6 6-1.

Swiatek will be up against the Australian crowd, as they root for underdog Maddison Inglis – the Australian qualifier who received a walkover to the fourth round with Naomi Osaka’s shock withdrawal.
Ben Shelton and Casper Ruud will take centre stage on Rod Laver Arena in the night session.
Jessica Pegula and defending champion Madison Keys will face off during the day in an intriguing dynamic, with the two American players good friends off the court, both co-hosts of The Player’s Box podcast.
Kyrgios will also be in action, alongside mixed doubles partner Leylah Fernandez as they take on Anna Danilina and JJ Tracy.
Fernandez and Kyrgios’ first-round victory against Neal Skupski and Desirae Krawczyk on Friday provided great entertainment, as they saved three match points to win a dramatic tie-break in front of the raucous home crowd.
Is Djokovic playing?
Novak Djokovic was initially scheduled to be taking on Jakub Mensik in the main event of the evening session on Rod Laver Arena.
However, Mensik announced on Sunday that his Australian Open run was coming to an end, as a result of a left abdominal injury.
Consequently, Djokovic receives a walkover into the quarter-final, where he will face either Lorenzo Musetti or Taylor Fritz.
