Temperatures will hover in the upper single digits to teens throughout the storm, with colder wind chills, according to the weather service.

Winds gusting as high as 35 mph on Monday afternoon will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow, the weather service said.

On Monday evening, lake effect snow showers are likely off Lake Ontario, bringing snow near the New York Thruway corridor. An additional 1 to 2 inches of snow is possible by Monday night.
