Malls and some retail spots around North Texas are shutting down completely on Sunday, as the cold front continues to freeze the region.
NorthPark Center in Dallas, Stonebriar Centre in Frisco and Grapevine Mills will shut their doors on Sunday, according to messages on their websites. The Parks Mall at Arlington, Galleria Dallas and The Shops at Clearfork in Fort Worth also are following suit, according to its websites.
It’s not just malls. More than 30 dozen different sites for Walmart, including Sam’s Club, were closed at about 10:15 a.m. on Sunday in the region, according to a website.
North Texas retail has been grappling with a storm that’s made driving more difficult. Some grocers have limited hours, including H-E-B, Kroger and Tom Thumb since Saturday.

The region headed into a snowier Sunday as Dallas Fort Worth-International Airport received two inches’ worth of mixed sleet, ice and snow over the course of the winter storm as of 6 a.m.

The closures also affect Ikea, with sites in Frisco and Grand Prairie shutting on Sunday, its websites said.
Other closings include Town East Mall in Mesquite and Allen Premium Outlets.
At NorthPark, an exception is Eataly, the Italian food store, which will be open for part of the day, the shopping center said.
H-E-B said its North Texas stores, including Central Market and Joe V’s Smart Shop, will close at 5 p.m. Sunday and reopen at 9 a.m. Monday at sites in North Texas, including its namesake, Central Market and Joe V’s Smart Shop. Aldi, the grocer, posted that some of its stores will have special operating hours amid the storm.
Kroger will limit hours on Monday with stores set to be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in D-FW, according to John Votava, spokesperson for the company.
Some other shopping hubs, such as Legacy West in Plano and Southlake Town Square, recommended checking with stores for hours that could vary.
After a day that saw closures at many malls, NorthPark is opening later.
Temperatures on Sunday never rose above freezing mark.
