Match Preview – Crewe Alexandra (H)

Bromley take on Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday night at the CopperJax Community Stadium, with the Ravens hoping to do the double over the Railwaymen, following their 1-0 triumph at the Mornflake Stadium in October, courtesy of Michael Cheek’s 52nd minute strike.
Arriving in BR2, Lee Bell’s men sit 16 points below Bromley, in 11th place – despite being beaten by Bromley earlier on in this season, Crewe held the bragging rights last campaign, as they snatched three points away from Andy Woodman’s men at the CopperJax Community Stadium in late August after staging a late comeback to win 2-1, before putting on a convincing display four months later in Cheshire, beating the Ravens 4-1.
Tuesday’s visitors have won three of their last four games, with all of their wins coming at home, but they have lost all three of their most recent away games, suffering defeat at the hands of Walsall, Newport County and Notts County.
Their last game saw them take on promotion-pushers Notts County in the early kick-off on Saturday at Meadow Lane – Martin Patterson’s County had experienced a bad run of form prior to the fixture, having won just one of their last five games (a 2-1 win against Crawley Town, who the Ravens have taken six points from this season), which would have been music to the ears of Bell and his squad; Alassana Jatta’s eighth minute goal secured the Magpies a big three points, putting any form-related worries to bed.
The man to look out for in a Crewe shirt is Stoke City loanee Emre Tezgel – the 20-year-old has bagged eight goals in League Two so far this season, as well as another four in the Vertu Trophy, three of which came in a single game against Chesterfield. That wasn’t the only hat-trick that the frontman would go on to bag – he found the back of the net three times in 60 minutes in a League Two test against Grimsby Town in October, securing his side a 3-2 win in front of a home crowd.
