Fans Spot Untitled CDs and Vinyl on Noah Kahan’s Website Ahead of Suspected New Album Announcement

*UPDATE: Noah Kahan has now officially announced his new album, ‘The Great Divide’. Read the full details here.

The excitement continues to build ahead of Noah Kahan’s brand new song, ‘The Great Divide’, dropping this Friday (January 30th), and the folk titan’s long-awaited next album.

The ‘Stick Season’ chart-topper has been sprinkling clues and easter eggs across his social media in the lead-up to the project’s announcement, with many fans speculating that Kahan might be planning to unveil the album today (January 28th).

Adding weight to this rumour is the fact that some eagle-eyed fans have spotted a few new untitled CDs and Vinyl records appearing on Kahan’s official website. The names are just place-holders, with one, for instance, being a jumbled-up series of letters – “Cdanerughqegq”. The shipping date is Friday, January 30th, 2026.

We’re hoping these could be pre-order placeholders for Kahan’s forthcoming studio album, perhaps ahead of the potential announcement today (January 28th). Alternatively, given the shipping date is listed as January 30th – the day the ‘Northern Attitude’ hitmaker’s new single, ‘The Great Divide’, comes out – these could be CD and Vinyl versions of the single. Another folk favourite, Mumford & Sons, took this approach for ’Rubber Band Man’ with Hozier, so perhaps Kahan and his team are planning something similar to give an added boost to the figures.

We’ll have to wait and see, but we have a strong inkling that the ‘She Calls Me Back’ crooner has something up his sleeve for today (January 28th), following his cryptic video message last week hinting that there is “lots” more to come after ‘The Great Divide’, and concluding by casually remarking that he’d see fans again on “the 28th”.

Kahan has been flooding social media with clues regarding his next chapter of music, including creating a secret TikTok account called “the last of the bugs” – a reference to a line from ‘The View Between Villages’, the final song from Kahan’s previous album, Stick Season. It’s been almost four years since we first heard the original version of that project, and now that we’re standing on the precipice of new music from the ‘Homesick’ singer-songwriter, the anticipation is through the roof.

As we’ve outlined previously, we’re wondering if Kahan has already given us a strong hint as to the release date of his new album through his “last of the bugs” imagery.

In a heartfelt letter written to fans on New Year’s Ever, Kahan tantalisingly promised he’d have something for fans “when the bugs don’t die”, which feels like a nod to Spring. With Kahan’s new era seemingly permeated by a more hopeful, uplifting ambience compared to the isolation and despair of Stick Season, we think a release date of Friday, March 20th – the first day of Spring – would tie in perfectly…
